Step Forward

The social TV project “Step Forward” tells about those who despite difficulties, inactivity and disbelief of others do good and act for the benefit of the society.
The project protagonists selflessly spend their time, energy and resources to help those who currently are experiencing difficulties and need support.

GOAL
The TV project is designed to evoke a vivid response in the hearts of the audience, stir up their empathy and sympathy and encourage to make active steps forward others following the examples of the heroes of the project “Step Forward”. After all, we become stronger and spiritually richer fulfilling our civic duty and helping each other.

FORMAT
Despite the project name “Step Forward”, each series has its own subtitle and philosophical subtext, which are clear from Prologue and Epilogue. In total, the project includes 10 series.

1 series
“Faith of Father Sophrony”
The main hero is Hegumen Sophrony, the organizer of the orphanage and senior home that were founded at the church living of the village Ashibulak, Almaty region.

2 series
“English in Kazakh”
The heroine of the series is Zhanel Ayatkhan, a young English teacher who organized free courses for senior citizens.

3 series
“Special mission”
The hero of the series is Andrey Shlyakhov, a reserve officer. At his own expense the retired officer built a zoo for wounded birds and animals in Yesik (Almaty region) and made it open to the public.

4 series
“The greatest happiness”
The heroine of the series is a gynecologist, Klara Tuseeva. In the 90th, the most difficult period for the country, she helped to find happiness of motherhood and supported girls who wanted to have an abortion because of different reasons.


5 series
“Opening the Curtain”
The heroine of the series is Sasha Kim, who together with other volunteers organized a cultural patronage over orphanages. She stages productions involving pupils from orphanages as actors.

6 series
“Aliyarov’s Road”
The hero of the series is Berlisbek Aliyarov, a member of the Academy of Sciences, who established scholarships for teachers and pupils of a rural school in the Kyzylorda region. The objective of his personal action is to contribute to the formation of the country’s intellectual elite.

7 series
“Stronger than circumstances”
The hero of the series is Zhenis Tastanov, a man with disabilities. Together with voluntary helpers he planted more than 3.500 poplars in a remote village with scant vegetation of the South Kazakhstan region.

8 series
“When dreams come true”
The hero of the series is Rustem Ospanov, who is the organizer and permanent host of the festival Jazzistan, an event that brought together amateur musicians from around the world and became a hallmark of Almaty.

9 series
"Anar-apay’s garden"
The heroine of the series is a farmer, Anar Usenbayeva. At her own expense she has built a kindergarten in her native village Kyzyl-aryk (Zhambyl region), where there was not any preschool center for little children.

10 series
“Iran’s dream”
This is the only memorial series from the entire television cycle that is dedicated to a man who is no longer alive.
The hero of the series is Iran Omarbekov. He founded the Republican Non-Governmental Association “Confederation of Disabled People of Kazakhstan” and became a support for people with disabilities like himself.
