The sphere of science and education is one of the most significant activity areas of the foundation. It includes the publication of academic materials, the replenishment of pedagogical music-sheet funds of Kazakhstani academic institutions and the education of the most talented representatives of creative youth abroad.
One of the most remarkable foundation projects is the publication of Mario Melani’s study guide “Let’s Talk About Vocal” that summarizes extensive experience of a well-known Italian professor and a teacher of many modern opera stars. The timeliness and necessity of the publication of Maestro Melani’s work was confirmed by a great popularity of the book among Kazakhstani teachers of academic vocal.
The foundation published music compositions of European classical music, songs of Soviet composers and masterpieces of Kazakh traditional music to replenish music-sheet libraries.
The foundation closely works with the Academy of Vocal “Renata Tebaldi-Mario del Monaco” (Pesaro, Italy). Many Kazakhstani opera singers polished their vocal skills in with Maestro Melani in this academy. Medet Chotabaev, Zhuldyzbek Uteshkaliev, Bereke Enkebaeva , Andrey Tregubenko, Elmira Usaeva, Saltanat Muratbekova, Timur Nizameev is an incomplete list of vocalists who received education in Italy due to the Humanitarian Foundation “Degdar”. Nowadays many former students of the Academy are leading soloists of major opera theatres of the country (“Astana Opera” and the Kazakh State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet named after Abay) and teach in Kazakhstani academic institutions of music (the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory and the Kazakh National University of Arts).
