Humanitarian Foundation

The Foundation was founded upon the initiative and under the guidance of Dariga Nursultanovna Nazarbaeva in 2001 (Dariga Nursultanovna is the head of the Fund Board of Directors).
The Foundation is engaged in different activities.
Charity:
-material aid to World War II veterans;
-assistance of the community’s most vulnerable people;
-material aid to orphan and disabled persons homes;
- support of the Paralympic movement;
- support of young talents, assistance in financing new scientific research, provision of special grants and scholarships for talented students;
- collaboration with charitable organizations, leading academic institutions, cultural centers and non-governmental organizations of distant and near foreign countries.
Cultural and educational activity:
-organization of concerts of Kazakhstani musicians performing classical, folk and pop music in Kazakhstan and abroad;
-organization of art festivals “Astana Keshteri”, “Japanese  Spring”- “Japanese Autumn”, “Time Binding Thread”, “Alga, Kazakhstan!”, “Koktem Samaly”, “Zhurek Sazy”;
- organization of conferences, master-classes, exhibitions, competitions and publication of educational materials.

Almost all events and actions organized by the foundation become popular in the republic and attract a lot of media attention.
Due to a high level of the events organized by the foundation, “Degdar” is considered as one of the leaders in the sphere of the humanitarian project realization in Kazakhstan.
